Kinda like Mr. Rogers himself. In the trailer, released today by Sony Pictures, Rhys’s character asks Mr. Rogers: “Do you consider yourself a hero?”Rogers responds that all the puppets and characters that he introduces are only really trying to do one thing: “We are trying to give the world positive ways of dealing with their feelings.”Hanks seems to nail Rogers perfectly, inflection and all. But was there really any doubt that Hanks would perfectly channel our favorite childhood icon? The end of the trailer features a scene designed to tug at the heartstrings. When children spot Mr. Rogers on the train, they spontaneously break into the classic song “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.”Thanks, Sony Pictures, for dropping the trailer on Monday, making it a wonderful day in the neighborhood indeed.A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, which is directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and also stars Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Cooper, hits theaters November 22.More on Movie and TV Trailers at SDCC 2019Tom Cruise Surprised Comic-Con With New ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Trailer‘The King’s Man’ Trailer Turns Back the Clocklast_img
