Department SummaryThe Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at San José StateUniversity (SJSU) invites applications for one tenure-track facultyposition at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department is hometo dynamic programs for BS and MS degrees in BiomedicalEngineering. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we havedeveloped strong ties and long-standing collaborations with thediverse array of biomedical engineering industries that surroundus. While most of our students stay in Silicon Valley upongraduation, and contribute actively to the dynamic growth in theBay Area, a significant portion of our students have enjoyedsuccessful careers around the country and abroad. Our rigorous BSand MS curricula were developed in close consultation with ourIndustry Advisory Council to ensure that our graduates are“industry-ready” with the skills and knowledge to begin successfulcareers in biomedical engineering. Many of our classes also benefitfrom the contributions of these industry experts who engage ourstudents, share their practical experiences and, not infrequently,teach some of our classes.The reputation of our educational programs for providing a uniquepractical approach is built on a strong academic foundation thatcontinues to attract students.
