The Grateful Dead guitarist has had plenty of history in the city of New Orleans over the years, this time returning in support of his 2016 album Blue Mountain, which was inspired from his time working on a Wyoming ranch at the age of fifteen.The show’s first set opened with just Weir and his acoustic guitar, performing covers of Son House, the Grateful Dead, and The Temptations, as well as the 2016 title track “Blue Mountain.” The band then emerged for the second half of the set, performing mostly songs from Blue Mountain and a traditional cover of “Jack-A-Roe.”For the second set, Bob Weir and co went full Grateful Dead catalogue, and even recruited NOLA bass legend George Porter Jr. (The Meters) for “Sugaree” and “Birdsong.”You can check out some beautiful photos of the performance below, courtesy of photographer Mark Raker.Enjoy full show audio, courtesy of nolamule:Thanks to dylanjames67, you can watch some highlights below:Jack-A-RoeGhostownMusic Never Stops, Part IMusic Never Stops, Part IIlast_img
