New Delhi: Around 31 per cent potential homebuyers will wait till the end of the ongoing general elections to purchase a property, a 360 Realtors report said on Sunday. The report, however, said that the scepticism with respect to the elections have softened. “Around 31 per cent of the respondents have indicated that they would prefer to wait and watch rather than making a purchase,” said the report, adding that nearly 60 per cent of such respondents thought that a change in government might lead to policy amendments. According to the report, Indian home buyers are confident about the potential of the market owing to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, among others. “Amidst growing formalisation and attractive rates, it is natural that property transactions will mostly remain insulated from the upcoming elections,” it said.
N P Kumar, special public prosecutor said during subsequent investigation and interrogation of Rikas, police found he had sourced the drug from an accomplice, Ravi Master, who in turn had received the contraband from Bhagirath Patel of Gujarat. Two Sri Lankans, Pakhar Mohammad and 61-year-old Nooruddin Kamal along with S Raja, 34, of Choolaimedu were also involved in the sourcing and subsequent attempt to smuggle the drug. While Nooruddin and Pakhar were absconding, police arrested Raja and Ravi. A special city court in Chennai has sentenced a 23-year-old Sri Lankan to 10 years RI under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for trying to smuggle 2kg heroin from the Chennai international airport in 2010, the Times of India reported.According to the prosecution, sleuths from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) received a tip-off that a Sri Lankan citizen along with his city-based accomplices was going to smuggle the contraband. The NCB personnel conducted a search operation at the airport on November 10, 2010, and found Mohammad Rikas of Sri Lanka in possession of 2kg of the banned substance in his baggage, on the way to board a Jet Airways flight to Colombo. Recently, K Ayappan, judge, I additional court for cases under NDPS Act, convicted Rikas saying the prosecution had proved his offence beyond a reasonable doubt. The court also slapped him with a fine of 2 lakh. Ravi and Raja, however, were acquitted. (Colombo Gazette) read more
In August last year, Sri Lanka’s Parliament has unanimously approved a bill to set up an office to help find some 65,000 people reported missing during the country’s civil war with the LTTE (1983-2009), and clarify the circumstances under which they disappeared. Relatives of the missing people had alleged that the Lankan state – particularly its army, navy and police – were behind most of the disappearances. Many Lankan soldiers and LTTE cadres who had surrendered before the Government troops were also among the missing. (Colombo Gazette) “We hope the Government would respond after looking at this protest action. All Tamil and Muslim political parties in these areas are observing the protest,” MK Shivajilingam, a hardline Tamil provincial councilor from the Tamil-dominated northern province said. The Tamil and Muslim people in the North-East are demanding the Government to release the lands that are still occupied by the military, justice to the disappeared persons and provide employment to the war-battered.“People have been protesting now for over two months yet the government has failed to address the issue,” Shivajilingam said. Some of the lands held over three decades have been released since 2015. But Tamils complain of slow progress.Commenting on the protest yesterday, Government spokesman and Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne said the relatives of the disappeared people in some cases had provided photographic evidence that they had been seen under government care since the end of the conflict in 2009.“We will investigate such cases but we are unable to issue death certificates in respect of the disappeared as we have no proof,” Senaratne said. In some Muslim-dominated areas in the eastern province, life remained normal with all services operating. All the major towns in the northern and eastern provinces today observed a shutdown after the Tamil and Muslim political parties held a protest demanding the release of military-occupied land, the Press Trust of India reported.Offices, businesses, schools and public transport came to a halt after the two provinces observed a shutdown. read more

Ronda Rouseys Controversial Tweets Sponsored By WWE Twitter Now Playing Up Next Pinterest NWA President Billy Corgan announces their first television tapings from Atlanta WWE issued the following on Monday night.Alundra Blayze to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015A trailblazing woman in every sense, it’s only right that Alundra Blayze’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015 was announced at the start of Women’s History Month.Born Debrah Miceli, the Minnesota native broke into the industry in the mid-1980s, learning the ropes from Eddie Sharkey, the famed trainer who taught the likes of The Road Warriors, “Ravishing” Rick Rude and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. Tall, blonde and possessing the looks of a supermodel, she was a stark departure from the double-tough women of eras past. After adopting the ring name Madusa, she was brought on by Verne Gagne’s AWA, where she proved that despite her looks, she could hit just as hard as her opposition. Taking on future WWE Hall of Famers like Sensational Sherri and Wendi Richter, she captured the AWA Women’s Championship before leaving the company, and North America, for Japan.Miceli spent three years wrestling and training with the revered All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling promotion. She excelled in the hard-hitting environment, incorporating martial arts into her arsenal. When she returned to America in 1991, she joined WCW and Paul Heyman’s infamous Dangerous Alliance, aiding rule-breakers like Rude and “Stunning” Steve Austin in trying to take out heroes like Sting. In 1993, she jumped to WWE, which was looking to revitalize its women’s division. Under the name Alundra Blayze, she won a tournament to capture the WWE Women’s Championship in late 1993. Blayze introduced the high-impact Japanese style to a new audience, bringing over foes like Aja Kong and Bull Nakano to show that women could fight just as well as their male counterparts. Her career took a unique turn in 1995, when Blayze, after being released from her WWE contract, showed up on WCW Monday Nitro with the WWE Women’s Championship, only to throw it in the garbage on live television. The controversial moment remains one of the most talked-about milestones in the infamous Monday Night War.Once again competing as Madusa, she helped WCW introduce its own women’s division, competing against Sherri and Nakano. By late 1999, she stepped outside of the women’s ranks and competed against the men, defeating Evan Karagias to capture the Cruiserweight Championship at that year’s Starrcade.Since leaving wrestling after the closing of WCW, she entered the world of monster trucks, becoming one of the top drivers behind the wheel of a star-spangled truck bearing her ring name, Madusa. In addition to three reigns as WWF Women’s Champion, she’s also captured two Monster Jam World Finals championships. Now, Alundra Blayze will be back under the WWE banner for the first time since 1995, when she joins the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015.Tickets for the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com, the SAP Center box office, and by calling 800-745-3000.Recommended videosPowered by AnyClipRonda Rouseys Controversial Tweets Sponsored By WWEVideo Player is loading.Play VideoPauseUnmuteDuration 0:49/Current Time 0:03Loaded: 91.99%0:03Remaining Time -0:46 FullscreenUp NextThis is a modal window.Beginning of dialog window. The 25th annual Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is more than three weeks away, but it’s not too early to commit to volunteering. Organizer and retired letter carrier Don Young said so far he’s coming up short on volunteers needed to help letter carriers collect food in Clark County. The food drive benefiting the Clark County Food Bank starts 10 a.m. May 13. Most local post offices are participating except for Brush Prairie and smaller, rural offices such as Amboy. How it works is people leave bags of food by their mailbox in the morning that letter carriers and other volunteers collect.“I would love to see us get up to 200,000 pounds, but anything more than last year would be great,” Young said.Last year, 114,970 pounds of food were collected through the local drive, much less than years prior. The food drive helps keep local pantries stocked through the summer. Those interested in volunteering can contact Young at 360-904-6972 or email@example.com with “food drive” noted in the email’s subject line. read more
Facebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsAppProvidenciales, 04 Mar 2016 – There may be an appeal by the Deputy Premier to the decision of the Claims and Objections hearing not to hear, what she contends is a valid claim which impacts the voter list in the next General Elections. The Member of Parliament for Leeward, Akierra Missick said while the law does say she cannot make a claim or objection unless she is resident in the area for which the challenge is being brought, she believes her issue is valid and that it is the duty of the Election supervisor to ensure, fair and free elections in the TCI. It seems the new boundaries, according to the claim, caused voters to be placed in the incorrect electoral district in a few instances. Chairman of the PDM Doug Parnell said the claim or objection is very easily brought by someone of the constituency; it is what the PNP could have done, he said. Nonetheless, DP Missick said if the Elections Supervisor ultimately places those voters who are in the wrong constituency in the right one, then there will be no need for an appeal. For an autistic child it can really be tough. But at Bush Intercontinental they’re hoping to make it a fun experience. The airport is one of several around the country hosting “Wings for All,” an event designed for children with sensory challenges. The kids experience the ticket counter and the security checkpoint. They then get to check out the inside of a plane. Ana Martinez with the advocacy group The ARC of Texas says the event helps families improve their travel experience.“Being able to do some sort of dress rehearsal if you will, makes them more familiar with the process,” says Martinez. And parents like Carmen Lemus say it’s important to know what their child can handle. Her 8-year-old son Adam is autistic and non-verbal. But he loves to ride in the car and Lemus wants to know if he’d also enjoy flying. “If they can’t handle it we don’t have to travel that way,” says Lemus. “But if they are able to handle it then it gives us more opportunity to travel to visit relatives, maybe go on more vacations.” Airport officials say the event isn’t just for kids. It also helps security agents and airport staff understand the needs of autistic passengers. The ARC of Texas says another Wings for All event will be held this fall. Share read more

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has had a wealth of documentation from his predecessors and church fathers to draw from in writing his encyclical on the environment. Here are key quotes that have informed the church’s social teaching on caring for God’s creation, and are thus likely to be cited by Francis in the encyclical.___ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI“Be praised, my Lord, for all your creation and especially for our Brother Sun, who brings us the day and the light … Be praised, my Lord, for our Brothers Wind and Air and every kind of weather by which you, Lord, uphold life in all your creatures. Be praised, my Lord, for Sister Water, who is very useful to us, and humble and precious and pure. … Be praised, my Lord, for Sister Earth, our Mother, who nourishes us and sustains us, bringing forth fruits and vegetables of many kinds and flowers of many colors.” The Canticle of Creation, 13th century. Francis’ encyclical, “Laudato Si (Be Praised), On the Care of Our Common Home,” takes its name from this famous prayer of the pope’s namesake. For men who have the means and the ability to construct and ennoble the world about them can also destruct it and squander its goods. Human science and technology have made marvelous gains. But care must be taken that they are used to enhance human life and not to diminish it.” Message for the World Day of Environment, 1977.___ST. JOHN PAUL II“The dominion granted to man by the creator is not an absolute power, nor can one speak of a freedom to ‘use and misuse,’ or to dispose of things as one pleases. The limitation imposed from the beginning by the Creator himself and expressed symbolically by the prohibition not to ‘eat of the fruit of the tree’ shows clearly enough that, when it comes to the natural world, we are subject not only to biological laws but also to moral ones, which cannot be violated with impunity.” Encyclical Sollicitudo Rei Socialis (The Social Concern of the Church), 1987.___ST. in Daily Dose, Data, Featured, Government, Market Studies, News Expanding Home Equity Boosts Market Health Financial Accounts of the U.S. Home Equity National Association of Home Builders 2015-12-11 Staff Writer December 11, 2015 566 Views While many factors contribute to the overall health of the housing market and economy, home equity is providing a major boost to the overall position of U.S. households.A recent report from the Financial Accounts of U.S. and analysis from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) found that household holdings of real estate reached $21.826 trillion in the third quarter of 2015, up $1.365 trillion from $20,461 trillion from last year.In addition, the reports showed that home mortgage debt outstanding totaled $9.460 trillion in the third quarter of 2015, up $78.0 billion from last year during the same time. The government report also found that mortgage debt increased 1.6 percent at an annual rate. The NAHB analysis concluded that because household-held real estate grew at a much faster pace than the total amount of mortgage debt outstanding, this means that home equity among consumer grew.According to the Financial Accounts of the U.S., home equity totaled 12.366 trillion in the third quarter of 2015, up 11.6 percent year-over-year, and is now 56.7 percent of household real estate. The amount of underwater mortgages in the U.S. continues to decline, but is not fully helping the housing market on the road to recovery, particularity in many large markets that were heavily impacted during crisis times. The negative equity rate nationwide fell in the third quarter to 13.4 percent of underwater borrowers, down from last quarter’s percentage of 14.4. One year ago, 16.9 percent of homeowners owed more on their home than it’s worth, Zillow’s Negative Equity Report showed.”Negative equity has become almost an afterthought in a handful of the nation’s hottest markets, but is holding back the recovery in dozens of large markets nationwide,” said Dr. Svenja Gudell, Zillow’s Chief Economist. She added, “Despite steady declines in negative equity, many cities are still facing tight inventory, especially among entry-level homes. Those homes that are available are often not in demand and stay on the market for a long time. This can be extremely frustrating for buyers and sellers alike, as they come face to face with the difficult side effects of negative equity.” Share read more
